Like it’s rival Samsung, LG is looking to launch their next flagship smartphone ahead of schedule, according to Korean site Asiae.
The LG G2’s successor, which will be called the G3, is said to sport a 5.5-inch, 2560 x 1440 resolution display, that’s the same resolution as it’s upcoming rival, the Galaxy S5. The same source also stated that the G3 will be launch on May 17.

According to a report out of Korea on Tuesday, the Android 4.4 KitKat update that LG rolled out for Korean G2 users was just a ‘test update’ where only 5% of the Korean G2 owners have received the update. The report also claims that the update proved to have no bugs and already has been given the green light to roll it out to the remaining 95% of the G2 users in the country.

Looks like LG is just in time to give their Korean users Christmas presents as they started to roll-out the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the G2. The update is about 637.39MB in size, which is about the same size that we’ve seen from other Android devices that received the update.
