Just a year after the Samsung Galaxy Golden’s launch, a premium flip-clamshell type Android smartphone priced at about $830, Samsung has already let out a huge price cut for the device in India of almost 50% due to it’s poor reception. So in order to sell a bit more of the device, it now carries a Rs. 29,999 ($500) price tag from retailer Flipkart.
The Samsung Galaxy Golden is obviously not a smartphone for all since it utilizes the old flip and clamshell like design that a few users still prefer at this new age and time of touchscreen display. The Galaxy Golden features a dual 3.7-inch Super AMOLED WVGA display with a 800 x 480 resolution, a 1.7GHz Qualcomm MSM8930 dual-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage expandable via a microSD card slot, a 8MP/1.9MP camera combo, and a 1,820mAh battery. The device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
