Google to replace Nexus brand name by 2015?

According to latest rumours, Google plans to stop producing Nexus devices during the next couple of years. According to the well know Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin, this will happen around 2015. According to the Russian blogger, Google will focus on releasing “Play Edition” smartphones like the HTC One and Samsung’s Galaxy S4 smartphones we know during the past couple of months, along with LG G Pad 8.3, Sony Xperia Z Ultra and Motorola Moto G that all are available with stock Android from Google’s Play Store.

Another reason for this choice from Google is that all the other manufacturers look at Nexus devices as competitors so Google will ask for a bigger loyalty towards them, aiming to create more Play Edition smartphones. Oh and note that these new smartphones will not be called “Play Edition”, Google will choose another name soon. In any case these are all leaks and rumours, take them with a pinch of salt as always.
