Google Keyboard 2.0 now availiable in the Play Store, bringing in KitKat features

Google released an updated version of its own keyboard which found on the Nexus devices. The new version is the 2.0.18933.905102a and brings a lot of new enhancements, like space aware Gesture Typing, eliminating the need to lift the finger when swiping out completely sentence, etc.

Here are all the new features of the new Google’s Keyboard version 2.0 (copied from Play Store):

  • Rationalized punctuation across different sizes (4″,7″ and 10″)
  • Inserted emoji entry point & layouts (KitKat or later)
  • Simplified mini-keyboard on full stop long press (revised long-press menus)
  • De-blued press states
  • Added space-aware gesture typing (you will not have to lift your finger while gesture typing – just go through the space bar)

Unfortunately, some of the new features, like the full-color emoji, still requires KitKat. Devices with prior version of Android will not be able to see the full-color emoji, but a black and white set instead.
