This is my review of the Galaxy S5, Samsung’s latest flagship!
There are two variants of the Galaxy S5. The LTE variant which is sold in the United States and most parts of Europe is powered by the Snapdragon 801 and the Non-LTE variant, which is sold in other parts of the world like India, is powered by the Exynos 5422 chipset.
The LTE variant is powered by the Snapdragon 801 chipset that houses 4 krait 400 cores clocked at 2.5 GHz each coupled with an Adreno 330 GPU .
The Exynos version (used in this video) is powered by the Exynos 5422 chipset.
The Exynos 5422 houses 4 high powered Cortex A15 cores clocked at 1.9ghz each and 4 low powered Cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.3 Ghz each coupled with an Mali-T628 MP6 GPU.
Both variants have 2GB RAM and 16/32GB internal storage with a microSD card slot for expansion (upto 128GB)
The Galaxy S5 runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top.
The Galaxy S5 is IP67 certified which means that it is water resistant upto 1 meter and 30 minutes and dust proof.
The Galaxy S5 houses a 16MP Rear Camera capable of shooting UHD or 4K videos at 30FPS & a 2MP front facing camera capable of recording 1080P videos at 30FPS .
It has a 5.1″ 1080p Super Amoled HD display (~432ppi), covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and a 2800mAh user replaceable battery.
