We have seen from several reports and reviews that the new Galaxy Note 3 will be sporting a USB 3.0 micro B port making the it the first smartphone to ever have that feature.
As we know the USB 3.0 adds a new transfer mode called “SuperSpeed” and it’s capable of transferring data at up to 5Gbit/s, which is more than 10 times as fast as the 480 Mbit/s top speed of USB 2.0 offers.
So there are a lot of benefits of this feature for users that will get the Galaxy Note 3. The data transfer between Note 3 and PC or Laptop will be much faster, saving a lot of time transferring music, picture or taking a backup of your internal and external SDCards.
Also the charging procedure, when you connect your phone in USB 3.0 port of a PC or Laptop, will be faster, as the USB 3.0 provides up to 900mA output, which is almost duple higher than the 500mA provided by USB 2.0
As you can see from above photos, the connector port that comes with Note 3 is slightly different to those we are used to. But there is nothing to worry about, as if you lose or misplace the original Samsung cable, you can still connect your Note 3 in PC or Laptop, with your previous micro USB cable.
All these benefits are good in theory, but it remains to see if they truly benefit Galaxy Note 3 owners, both in faster data transfering and in faster charging.
If you already own a Galaxy Note 3, we would be grateful if you write a comment here to inform us if there are truly benefits from the USB 3.0 port.
