Samsung, the world’s biggest Android OEM, has reported a profit decline in the fourth quarter of 2013 from the previous quarter for the first time since 2011.
The company has a net profit of 7.3 trillion won ($6.8 billion) in the fourth quarter, 11% below from the previous quarter of 2013. Despite the fall in profit sales, Samsung still surpassed their 2012 4th quarter sales by 4%. And while Samsung still surpassed it’s revenue at 59.3 trillion won vs the 59.1 trillion from the previous quarter but increased marketing costs and one-time expenses including employee bonuses cuts the overall profit.
The company’s IT & Mobile Communications division has an operating profit of 5.47 trillion won on a revenue of 33.89 trillion won, making it the world’s best.
