Samsung will use MediaTek SoC’s for its 2014 lineup?

According to rumors, Samsung plans to use MediaTek processors in some of its new low-end and mid-range smartphones that will be unveiled in 2014! Samsung plans to make a huge impression by incorporating quad-core and octa-core SoCs (System-on-Chips) in its affordable smartphones to compete with Chinese manufacturers and be even more competitive in the mid-range segment.

As most of you might know, MediaTek SoCs are not known for their processing power – mainly because they rely on ARM’s Cortex A7 architecture, but on the other hand they are excellent in their energy consumption. We will have to wait and see what happens next year and whether Samsung will finally make an agreement with MediaTek.
