We reported a few hours ago about a mysterious Samsung device that has recently gotten its certification over in Korea which could either be the Galaxy Round or the flexible variant of the Galaxy Note 3.
Well it turns out as a combination of both.
The mysterious device has just been announced in Korea and will be officially called the Galaxy Round that virtually looks like the Galaxy Note 3 minus the S-Pen and of course, a little curved. Specs are very similar with the Galaxy Note 3 as well.
Here’s some technical specs of the Samsung Galaxy Round:
- 5.7-inch 1080p OLED curved display
- 2.3GHz Exynos quad-core processor
- 3GB RAM
- 13MP camera
- 2,800mAh battery
- 7.9mm thick, 154g
- Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
This makes the Samsung Galaxy Round as the world’s first commercialized smartphone with full HD Super AMOLED flexible display. A short youtube demo also shows a “roll effect” feature that enables the user to check the date, time, and notifications by slightly rolling the phone over towards one side when the screen is off. Samsung has also added the “Round Interactions” into some of their apps like music and photo apps.
The price of the Samsung Galaxy Round is set at a hefty 1,013 USD is only available in Korea. Samsung hasn’t made a statement if it’s going to be globally available in the future.
