Today, our official YouTube Partner, Ash from C4Etech will show you the unboxing and our first impressions on Samsung’s follow-up to the popular Galaxy Grand, the Galaxy Grand 2. It is now officially available in India via Samsung e-store, where its dual SIM version costs RS 22,999, which equates to about $375, while the single SIM variant has yet to be listed on the site. We will go through a short round-up of what’s inside the box and some few points about the device during our first few minutes with it.
Inside the box:
- Galaxy Grand 2 Unit
- Quick Start Guide
- Spare Ear-buds
- Micro USB Cable
- Travel/Charging Adapter
The Galaxy Grand 2 features a 5.25-inch display with 1280 × 720 resolution, powered by a quad core Snapdragon 400 clocked at 1.2GHz, 1.5GB of RAM, an 8MP/1.9MP camera combo, with 8GB of internal storage expandable via a microSD card slot, and a 2600mah battery. The device runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box. The Indian Galaxy Grand 2 comes with free access to Club Samsung for three months.
The first thing we noticed about the Grand 2 is that it’s a little heavy at 163 grams, almost as heavy as the bigger Galaxy Note 3 which weighs 168 grams. And talking about the Note 3, the Galaxy Grand 2 also sports the same faux leather back that gives the device a more premium look. Aside from that, you will see the same standard Samsung design and slot positioning from all Samsung Galaxy devices.
For our first impression, the Galaxy Grand 2 doesn’t lag at all during the short hands on, and like the previous Galaxy Grand smartphones, the Grand 2 lacks an option to turn on/off the haptic feedback which is a mystery to us. The speaker also gives a decent and loud enough audio which makes this device a good choice for anyone who’s looking for a good mid-range Android device. That’s it for now for our unboxing of the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, but we will also post a full review of the Grand 2 real soon.
