The Huawei Ascend Mate was one of the biggest smartphone that we’ve seen last year with a 6.1″ display, and it’s only natural that it’s successor to sport a similar or an even bigger display.
And according to the latest image leak, the Ascend Mate 2 will have the same size as it’s predecessor though we don’t know if it will have the same 720 resolution or higher. The image also shows that the Ascend Mate 2 will feature a brushed metal case to give it a more premium look. The device is also said to sport the same 1.5GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM.
Looking at the upgraded parts of the Ascend Mate 2, it is said to have a 13MP rear camera, compared to the original Ascend Mate’s 8MP camera. The front-facing camera will also be clear with it’s 5MP technology compared to it’s predecessor’s 1MP camera. It is also said that the Ascend Mate 2 will be running on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean.
The Huawei Ascend Mate 2 may not look like much of an upgrade assuming that this rumor is indeed true, but we still expect it to be great nonetheless, especially with how Huawei prices their products. I mean who wouldn’t want a 6.1-inch smartphone with very decent specs that sports a 13MP/5MP camera combo at a very appealing price?
