Oppo N1 is now official, with a 5.9 inch full HD display and rotating camera

Oppo unveiled today -as planned- its new N1 smartphone equipped with a series of features that look awesome. The device packs a 5.9 inch full HD display with 373ppi, a quad core Snapdragon 600 SoC @ 1.7GHz, Adreno 320 GPU, and runs on Color OS a special UI based on Android 4.2. Color OS is the result of 10 months of hard work with the help of 243 developers, 20.000 testers and 43 new patents.

Some of its most interesting features include live themes for weather with icon interaction and a drop-down board to design patterns for specific apps. The device also packs a 13.0MPixel camera with dual LED flash, f/2/0 aperture and the Oppo proprietary Owl imaging processor.

According to Oppo, N1 is the first Android smartphone with 6 part lens, that can also rotate for up to 206 degrees allowing for video calls with the same camera. Depending on the edition you choose, its camera can support 10x or 15x zoom and Oppo has also created some accessory snap on lenses for even more awesome results. In addition the company has tested the camera mechanism and performed over 10.000 rotations with out any problem. This means that you can rotate the camera 40 times a day for the next 7 years and not worrying if it will… break!

In addition the whole area below the camera is touch sensitive, and thanks to O-Touch feature the phone can perform certain functions like playing the next song in the music player, navigate the web or take a photo. Oppo has also designed a Bluetooth add on with the name O-Click, that can be used as a remote control for the camera and can operate up to 5 meters away from the device. Oppo’s flagship supports dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC, it has a 3610 mAh battery and a speedometer to record your speed (for a first time in a smartphone!). Oppo also announced that it will cooperate with Cyanogen so that N1 will be able to run all of its ROMS! This means that user will be able to select between the Color OS and CyanogenMod while ordering the device from Oppo. Oppo N1 is made out of plastic and will be available in two colors: white and black, with 16 or 32GB of storage. Its price will be approximately 422 Euros.
