Microsoft has released one of its casual games, Wordament. Android users can now challenge those on Windows Phone and iOS platforms. As the name suggests, it is a word search game similar to Scramble With Friends or Boggle, but it has a larger community. People around the world play the same puzzles and compete for the high scores on a single leaderboard.
The game looks and plays on Android the same as it does on the other platforms, and is pretty easy to pick up and get started with. You have a 4×4 board of letters and swipe in any direction across the letters to make words. At the end of each round, you compare your results to everyone elses. However, in order to show up on the leaderboards you’ll need to sign in with an Xbox or Facebook account. At the moment there is no Google+ sign-in available, but you can play as a guest if you don’t care about your rank.
Wordament is free and unfortunately comes with a few adds. It seems to have some lag issues on some devices, namely the HTC One. But as a nice casual game, we are glad Microsoft is bringing its title to Android platform.
