According to a new rumor, Huawei is set to unveil it’s new high-end smartphone, the Ascend D3 at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The Ascend D3, is said to run on an in-house produced Kirin 920 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. The chip is based on ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture, which consists of two pairs of cores – four A7 Cortex or mild processing and four A9 Cortex for high-performance processing.
We have already seen similar technology on display through MediaTek’s Cortex A17-based MT6595 eight-core processor which proved to be working all at once and is 60% faster and more power efficient than the A9 Cortex processor.
Other than the processor, the Ascend D3 is rumored to sport a 5-inch display with 1080p resolution, a 16MP rear facing camera, and a meta chasis. Will we see the device a few days from now? We’ll see.
