Huawei announced their new flagship ‘phablet’ device – the Ascend Mate 2, back at CES 2014 last week. The Ascend Mate 2 boasts a 6.1-inch screen, a 1.6GHz Hisilicon quad-core processor, which is an in-house product from Huawei, as well as 2GB of RAM and a 13 megapixel camera. It will run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box. Huawei did not announce the price of the Ascend Mate 2, nor the release date.
But according to a new tipster close to GSM insider, The Huawei Ascend Mate 2 will launch before the Chinese New Year, which is the last day of January 2014, and is said to carry a price tag of $494. Keep in mind that this isn’t the official pricing or release date of the device, so take it as a grain of salt for now. We’ll keep you updated like we always do.
